WANDA JONES from Prosper, Texas, won the trip for two to London, England to see our February 21, 2010 show!!! This EHSS-only "Renewed & Reloaded" concert event will be the finale to our latest European Tour. The getaway is from Thursday, February 18 to Monday, February 22, 2010.

When Wanda entered our drawing, she never thought she’d win, but she had a plan, just in case. “Before I put my name in, I read the rules and noticed that the trip was transferable,” said Wanda. Since she’s not big on flying, she asked her children, also EHSS fans, if one of them would take the trip instead… on the seemingly impossible chance that Wanda’s name be pulled from nearly 7,500 entries.

Chance became reality on January 21 when Ernie called Wanda at work to let her know she'd won. “Wanda was so surprised and so sweet,” said Ernie. “It was so fun and did my heart such good to make that call. It was just very cool.” Wanda has passed the trip to her son, Chris, who's taking his wife, Pam.

The prize package includes:

Wanda has been a fan and regular concert-goer since Ernie's solo days and his career with The Cathedrals. She and her husband, Bobby, attend one or two EHSS-only and EHSS-Gaither shows a year in the vicinity of their hometown, which is north of Dallas. They even drove to Louisiana once to see a Signature Sound show.

“I was raised on gospel music. It’s what we love,” said Wanda, who sang with her mother and sister in the church choir for a number of years. They also sang as a trio outside the church. “What drew me to Ernie and Signature Sound was not only the music, but their sincerity and compassion.”

Her fondest EHSS moment was during intermission at a show when she observed Ernie with a young fan. “Ernie got down on his knee and took the time to talk to him. A lot of artists wouldn’t do that.” When asked about her favorite EHSS song, Wanda didn’t hesitate to say, “Oh, What a Savior!”

Wanda is the kind of person who commits – to her faith, her family, her joy of music and her career. For the last 20 years, she has been the assistant to the CEO of a company in Plano, Texas, that develops call technology for the corrections industry, and she has worked for the same gentleman at two other companies.

Chris teaches history and is the football defensive coordinator at the high school in Decatur, Texas, where he also works with the baseball team. Like others in the Jones family, he has always been involved with music. Chris plays the piano and also plays bass guitar for the morning service at his church in Decatur, where he is a deacon and teaches an adult Bible class.
