GAITHER HOMECOMING CHRISTMAS TOUR
December 4, 2009 - Sommet Center
By Martha Bolton
If the holiday season has you longing to enjoy great music, share hearty laughs, and take a walk down memory lane, then the Gaither Homecoming Christmas Tour 2009 is your ticket.
Hosted by gospel music legend Bill Gaither, this not-to-be-missed concert is the perfect blend of old and new, holiday and gospel, belly laughs and soul-stirring moments. It features the talents of The Isaacs, Buddy Greene & Jeff Taylor, Gene McDonald, Gordon Mote, Lynda Randle, Charlotte Ritchie, Greg Ritchie, Reggie and Ladye Love Smith, Russ Taff, Kevin Williams, Jason Crabb, and Ben Speer. How's that for a line-up?
The high point of the evening was the reuniting of Gaither Vocal Band favorites Michael English,
David Phelps, Mark Lowry, and Wes Hampton. Greeted with a resounding welcome by the audience of thousands, the Vocal Band was in their element and never sounded better. Both David Phelps and Michael English delivered spine-tingling solo performances, and the antics of the irrepressible
Mark Lowry filled the Sommet Center in Nashville with continuous waves of laughter.
Alsoo appearing on stage was Gloria Gaither. Gloria and Bill have penned over 700 songs together, and continue to reign as the First Couple of gospel music.
From Nashville, the Gaither Homecoming Christmas Tour 2009 moves on to Indiana, West Virginia, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, and Illinois.
If you love gospel music, if you love Christmas music, if you love Bill Gaither and all his Homecoming Friends, don't miss this concert!
