TaRanda has been feeling better today...she has been sitting up in a chair periodically...continue to pray for her recovery...Tony is still in ICU and the kidney is functioning well. He will probably be moved to a regular room on the same floor as TaRanda tomorrow...he is doing great...they are both doing great!

Hey everybody...one last update for the day...Tony and TaRanda are both stable...TaRanda is in some pain, so pray that the pain would lessen as time goes by...Tony is mostly sleeping, and the nurse told Luke that his new kidney is working great! She even used the word "Miracle". Please keep praying that Tony's body continues to accept the kidney...the accepting process takes weeks...on behalf of the Greenes...thank you all for praying throughout the day! We love you all!

Keep praying throughout the day that the kidney will continue to function well...we will keep you posted...thank you all for your prayers! The next few days will be tough as Tony and TaRanda recover...we covet your prayers for continued strength...we will up date as the day goes on...Praise the Lord for his touch on the transplant team! Thank you to Luke White for giving us updates...what a friend to all the Greenes!
Transplant A Success!

Just got word from Luke White that Tony is in ICU and the kidney is fuctioning great!! Praise the Lord!! God is so faithful!! Emotions are high...when TaRanda came out of her sleep the first thing she asked was "How's Tony?" Luke told her the kidney is functioning..needless to say TaRanda lost it...what a God we serve! We will keep you up to date here...

Hey everybody, they have just come and taken TaRanda to the operating room...the transplant has begun...be praying for the physicians, nurses, and the entire transplant team.

This heartwarming love story began at NQC in Louisville, KY when Tony Greene knelt on one knee asking the Greenes popular soprano TaRanda for her heart in marriage. She shyly answered, "Yes!" We all agreed, this was a match made in Heaven. Eight years and two daughters later petite TaRanda Greene is tall and bold in her love to save her husband Tony's life with the donation of her left kidney. Transplant surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning (Aug. 25) at 6 AM.
Tony has suffered with End Stage Renal Disease for over seven years. In July of 2008, Tony's kidneys began to completely fail. He has been on artificial kidney dialysis for over a year. Tony asks for "...everyone to be in much prayer for TaRanda and I... I really believe in my heart that God is going to take great care of us both."
The transplant will take place at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Due to the nature of the transplant, the doctors have asked NO VISITORS in order to keep down the risk of infection to both Tony and TaRanda.
Both should be home resting within the next week.
